What is "Green Building"?

By now, you have most likely heard about the growing trend of “sustainability”, “green” this, and “green” that. But what does it all mean? For most, “going green” simply entails taking a few extra or different steps to lessen our impact on our environment. At Sustain, we like to take this “going green” concept, and put it to use in the construction of homes, offices, restaurants, and the like. Put simply, we use and install products that are not only healthier for our planet, but for ourselves as well. We believe that healthier spaces lead to healthier people. Many people seem to believe that taking this step is unnecessary and expensive, but we strive to do everything in our power to keep prices low and satisfaction high.

Why is "Green Building" important?

Most interior home products on the market today are filled with chemicals and compounds that are not only harmful to our environment, but especially harmful to our bodies. Many of these chemicals, often found in such products as paint, acrylic carpeting, finishes, and the like, have been proven to cause a wide range of adverse health effects. These effects are vast, ranging from simple allergic reactions to neurological damage. We spend most of our time in homes, offices, and similar establishments. Why make these places potentially toxic? We feel it is our job to improve the quality of the places we stay, and we do that by offering a wide range of healthy alternatives to traditional products at an affordable price.
